Our long-term goal 

We aim to create a world where LGBTQ+ people can swim safely, joyfully, and with dignity. We seek to be known locally, nationally, and internationally for our fierce pride, advocacy, and commitment to building a diverse community in and out of the water.

Mission

Our current purpose 

As a mostly gay and lesbian swim club belonging to Illinois Masters Swim Association, the Chicago Smelts foster an atmosphere of camaraderie where swimmers of all abilities can participate in organized team workouts, train and compete. Through social events and community service, the team promotes personal growth and pride for all its members.
